Free Ipad 2 Offer

Rumors have it that the toy giant, Toys R’ Us, will start carrying the new Ipad 2 in it’s stores across the USA starting in May sometime. This hasn’t been 100% confirmed, but I’m not sure why someone would start this rumor if it wasn’t true. In my opinion, this is an awesome move on Apple’s part…leave it to Steve Jobs to find yet another completely untapped, hungry market…kids! The possibilities are endless as far as new kid friendly apps and games go, so we’ll just have to see how this all pans out! Kids will love the Ipad, which at it’s very core is as kid friendly as an electronic device can get.

Thankfully, Apple fixed a few issues that plagued the first generation Ipad from the start. For one thing, the wifi connectivity has been fixed and it’s oh so wonderfully sensitive…I get twice as many signals on this thing as I do on my desktop computer (It’s a PC). The newer dual-core processor on the ipad 2 along with it’s expanded RAM seems to have helped to stabilize apps a lot more than on the Ipad 1. I haven’t had anything crash on me since I got it, and according to most folks neither have they. Kudos to Apple, seems like this gadget wasn’t rushed out the door like the Ipad 1!

This past Friday at 5 PM, the newest Ipad 2 went on sale in the UK.  Lines were crazy outside major electronics stores, often going for blocks.  Many people were probably saddened by the time they reached the front of the line and realized that the device had sold out in less than 24 hours all across the UK!  Apple has a habit of shipping far less of a product than what is in demand, which likely makes folks want one even more…clever marketing?  Methinks.

Well, if you’ve been looking forward to getting your new free ipad 2, you may have to wait a little bit longer.  In addition to the incredible demand for the new Ipad, the terrible earthquake in Japan has also contributed to the shortages because of five key electronic components that are produced there.  I say take your time, Japan…the whole world is praying and hoping that you recover quickly!  Apple has commented on this, saying that it shouldn’t delay production for more than a few weeks.

I’m Not sure if this is even true or not or some clever way to hype the ipad 2 up a little bit, but either way this is the kind of story that makes me smile.  A man who ordered the new ipad 2 apparently didn’t have the approval of his wife, so she made him return it.  The man was obviously bummed out and after packing the box up, he included a not that simply said “Wife Says No.”  Well, in a complete surprise move, the man received another free ipad 2 in the mail just a few weeks later with a note from Apple saying “Apple Says Yes.”  Love it!

Everybody Wins!  Apple has officially made that man and all of his friends a convert for life.

Now this is cool.  If you’ve ever been addicted to a game on you ipad or iphone, but your eyes are hurting after 17 hours of nonstop play (cough, cough, angry birds…) you can now hook this puppy up to any HD TV that has an HDMI input (which is pretty much all of them nowadays) using a simple adapter.  The only problem with this is that some of the games are in the 4:3 aspect ratio, but I’d expect that won’t be an issue for anything that comes out in the future.  Check out this video and see this dude playing “Real Racing 2″ on his ipad 2 and flatscreen tv:

God the suspense is killing me…I hear rumors that this thing officially dropped today and is now available in the United States, but nobody has been able to confirm this yet.  While we all wait around, here are three reasons that you absolutely must have an ipad 2:

1. It’s brand new.  I mean, why would someone settle for an old Iphone now when they can have the vastly improved Iphone 4?  The same thought and research that apple uses when it updates it’s products to new generations will go into the Ipad 2 as well.
2. It’s thinner, lighter and faster.  I know I’ve already mentioned this in my previous posts, but the Ipad 2 will have a dual core processor in it, as well as double the ram of the first generation Ipad.  It is almost half as thick which should make it lighter too.  For something that is the same price as the original, I consider myself lucky that I didn’t buy one of these things last year when they first came out.
3. Amazing value for the money.  At only $499 for the 16 gb model, the Ipad 2 is something of immense value considering what it can do.  For that price, a person can barely get their hands on a middle of the road PC netbook much less a macbook pro.  Jump on this now before apple smartens up and hikes their prices!
